The Google Innovation Campus features mass timber structural systems to create a self-sustaining workplace where architecture, technology, nature, and renewable energy operate as one integrated ecosystem. Instead of being just a collection of office buildings, the campus is designed as a miniature city dedicated to the creativity, research, and collaboration of its more than 6,000 employees. Every building contributes to the environmental performance of the campus while fostering spontaneous interaction between engineers, designers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and visitors.
At the center of the master plan is a circular collaboration hub, representing Google's culture of openness and continuous knowledge exchange. The surrounding workplace buildings radiate from this central gathering space, creating a highly walkable campus connected through landscaped courtyards, shaded pedestrian streets, and elevated bridges. This layout encourages employees to move flexibly between teams, helping to minimize physical barriers and enhance interdisciplinary innovation.
